We were employed by our long-term client Willmott Dixon to carry out the full MEP design and build contract on this local authority building in Hambleton, Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

We worked collaboratively with Benchmark Architects and the main contractor to design every element of this eye-catching project.

The building facilities include entrance areas for service and booking. Service Hall, Cremation Room and Offices. A link corridor leads you to a second building with Café Area with small Commercial Kitchen and Function Space.

Air source heat pump was used to heat the building via underfloor heating network. We used heat recovery from the cremation machine to pre-heat hot water. Low energy LED lighting was used throughout with daylight dimming and scene set control for suitable areas of the building. AV and lighting was interfaced to synchronise for cremation services.

Externally the site has substantial car park, tranquillity and remembrance gardens with subtle lighting to accent the setting.
